We at Big Brothers Big Sisters of York and Adams Counties are committed to the safety of our Littles, Bigs, Staff, and Supporters. Below is an update on the ways the COVID-19 situation has changed our operations. We will continue to update this info as circumstances change and new information becomes available.
Changes to office and programs:
Our site-based mentoring programs are currently suspended due school closures throughout Pennsylvania.
Bigs and Littles’ Parents/Guardians should decide what level of contact they are comfortable with. Regular match meetings can resume as long at all parties involved are comfortable. This is still a difficult situation, and each person must evaluate their own personal risk. Please be understanding for those who are not ready to meet in person or get together in an enclosed space. For those who are not ready to meet, please continue to call, text, video chat or connect in other ways. We still ask that everyone continue to exercise caution. Wearing masks and physical distancing should be practiced where appropriate. Below you will find resources that may help you decide what is best for you. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me, Ashley, Judith, or Pam.

Big Sister Cheyenne and Little Sister Justice are taking their volunteer efforts to the next level by going on a mission trip together to help kids in Guatemala.
“I'm hoping Justice will learn that we can do great things to help others in our community, but we can also do great things to help our world and everyone in it. What I believe Justice will take away from our short-term mission trip in Guatemala is the value of things that we take for granted every day such as running water, medical care, learning, food etc. I believe this will open her eyes to a whole different level of hardship that is happening in our world. This trip will be a life-changing experience for both of us, and I'm happy we can go through this together as sisters.”
